34-Year-Old Tricycle Driver Commits Suicide By Drinking Poison Publicly In Delta – Video. A 34-year-old commercial tricycle driver simply identified as Kevwe has committed publicly near the ever-busy Olympia Cinema, Abeke by Adeola road, Sapele, Sapele LGA, Delta State.
According to reports, the father of two drank a poisonous substance, Snipper, on Thursday afternoon in full public glare over his inability to raise money to treat a medical condition.
It was learnt the deceased suffered from an undisclosed ailment since last year and was informed by doctors to raise N170, 000 before 27th January to enable him to commence treatment.
A family source said that Kevwe was convinced he could not raise the cash after efforts to get support from relatives and close friends failed.
“He has been suffering from ailment since last year and his family has been treating him,” the family source said.
“Just last month, he went to see the doctor again and they told him to bring N170,000. Now see what he has done. How will he come to the Olympia, the centre of the town and drink snipper, killing himself in the process?”
Reacting to his death, Kevwe’s mother lamented that her son has been threatening to kill himself for some time despite assurance that they will help him raise the money.
According to her: “He was in my house this morning, it was in my house that he took his bath and I even bought bread and a bottle of Fanta drink for him.
“He was complaining about the same problem and I told him to have hope that we will raise the cash, now see what he has done”.
The victim was taken to a private clinic where he was confirmed dead.
