Ex-One Entertainment Initiates Defamation Suit Against Two Former Miss Western Ghana Contestants

Ex-One Entertainment, the organizers of the annual Miss Western Ghana beauty pageant, have filed a defamation lawsuit against two former contestants. The lawsuit claims that the contestants made defamatory statements about the company, its leadership, and the Miss Western Ghana brand on social media.

The individuals named in the lawsuit are Emmanuella Owusuaa Tikoli, a 23-year-old contestant who participated in the 2025 edition of the pageant under the stage name Nuella, and Audrey Whitney Damoah Appiah, who was the Second Runner-Up in the 2023 Miss Western Ghana pageant.

According to court documents, following the grand finale of the Miss Western Ghana 2025 pageant held in August 2025, Tikoli allegedly made a series of social media posts claiming that the eventual winner, Esaaba, engaged in sexual relations with members of the organizing team to secure the Miss Western Ghana 2025 crown and the accompanying BMW car prize. Ex-One Entertainment has described these allegations as false, malicious, and entirely without evidence.

Tikoli is accused of using her TikTok platform to label the Chief Executive Officer of Ex-One Entertainment, Mr. Isaac Mensah, as a “scam.” She also questioned the credibility and integrity of the Miss Western Ghana pageant and the company itself.

In a related allegation, Audrey Whitney Damoah Appiah is accused of making damaging remarks during a TikTok Live session hosted by Tikoli on her handle, Queen Nuella. In this session, Appiah allegedly referred to the organizers of the Miss Western Ghana pageant as “thieves.”

Appiah, who was the Second Runner-Up in the 2023 pageant, later established a professional relationship with Ex-One Entertainment. She was recruited as a co-host for the Miss Western Ghana pageant in both 2024 and 2025, served as a host for the company’s talent reality show, X-Icons, and secured a role on another TV show through recommendations from Ex-One Entertainment.

Management of Ex-One Entertainment has characterized the alleged comments by both respondents as false, malicious, and injurious to the company’s reputation, its leadership, and the Miss Western Ghana brand.

Speaking on the matter, the Manager of Ex-One Entertainment, Mr. Ato Kwamina Otoo, expressed deep disappointment, particularly given that the alleged remarks came from individuals who had either participated in or benefited from opportunities provided by the Miss Western Ghana platform. He noted that such statements undermine the credibility of the pageant, its organizers, and the values the brand represents.

Mr. Otoo emphasized that Miss Western Ghana is not just a beauty pageant; it is a platform with a strong social mission dedicated to empowering underprivileged young women through technical and vocational skills training. This initiative aims to help these women achieve financial independence. He also highlighted the importance of protecting the integrity of the platform to maintain public trust and ensure opportunities for future contestants.

Ex-One Entertainment has reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, transparency, fairness, and accountability. The organization stated that it will pursue all necessary legal measures to safeguard its reputation and that of its stakeholders. Management insists that unfounded and defamatory allegations, particularly those made publicly on social media, will not undermine the mission and values of the Miss Western Ghana brand.
